Restaurative Dentistry

Rubberdam

Obturation

Before cleaning out the cavity or removing the old filling, we isolate the tooth/teeth that we’re going to treat with a rubberdam. It helps keeping the teeth isolated from the saliva and gives us a clean and dry workingfield. This is important mostly for root canal treatments and when using fillings whom are sensitive to humidity for example composites.

The patient can relax more and has to open his mouth less and can swallow easier. The rubberdam avoids the falling of material in the mouth so we can avoid the swallowing of hard metals when we treat old amalgam fillings.

The tooth is filled with biomimetic materials and in a way that the original anatomy of the tooth is restored.
